Adamson clobbered Rizal Technological University, 11-3, on Sunday to win the Cebuana Lhuillier National Intercollegiate Women’s Softball Championship via a seven-game sweep at Rosario Sports Complex in Pasig City.

Queenie Sabobo hit a leadoff home run and Analie Benjamin and Rizza Bernardino drove home multiple runs to back up pitcher Julie Marie Muyco as the Lady Falcons ruled the tournament for the second straight year.

“It’s a good preparation for the University Athletic Association of the Philippines tournament, where we are defending our title,” said Adamson coach Ana Santiago.

The champs boast of four Blu Girls and five members of the Manila team that recently won the Big League World Series in Michigan.

Bernardino was a perfect three-for-three at bat with a pair of singles and a triple, while Benjamin was three-of-four as they combined for a total of 10 runs.

Muyco, a Bacolod native, limited RTU to four hits, while striking out four with a variety of pitches.

The Lady Falcons roared to a 2-0 advantage after hits from Sabobo and Benjaminm, before a single by Bernardino and leftfielder Luzviminda Embudo made it 4-0.

But Rizal Tech wasn’t about to give up, unleashing a couple of runs in the second inning and another run in the third on a triple by Nuds Ibanez.

Adamson made it to the finals by ousting arch rival University of Santo Tomas in the semifinals, while RTU overcame Polytechnic University, 4-0, in the other semis duel.

In the battle for third place, UST downed PUP, 8-4.
