SOFTBALL is one of the 30 sports included again in this year’s edition of the revived Philippine Sports Commission’s (PSC) Batang Pinoy, the grassroots development program aimed at discovering promising athletes.

The Amateur Softball Association of the Philippines (ASAPHIL), headed by sportsman and sports patron Jean Henri Lhuillier, has been tapped to officiate the softball event in the Batang Pinoy, a move welcomed by Lhuillier.

“Batang Pinoy is certainly a god way for us to identify new and young softball talents in the provinces, an important component in our own developmental program for the sport”, said Lhuillier.

The first leg is set from Aug. 27 to Aug.31 leg in Tagum City, Davao del Norte, second leg from Sept. 24-28 in Maasin, Leyte; third leg on Oct. 15-19, in Iba, Zambales and the national finals is set in Zambaonga City on Nov. 29 to Dec.1.

The sportsfest is held in cooperation with the Philippine Olympic Committee (POC), the Department of Education, Department of Interior & Local Government, and the League of Cities, Municipalities and Barangays.
