USA top Philippines behind Valerie Arioto's hits, 13-1

An outstanding effort by Valerie Arioto lifted USA to a 13-1 win in five innings over Philippines on Wednesday. Arioto hit two home runs for USA. Arioto went 2-4 in the game with five RBIs and two runs scored. Arioto homered in the first and fifth innings.

The offense exploded for the USA in the first. Philippines had no answer as USA scored eight runs. USA scored in the first on A two-run home run by Taylor Hoagland, a solo home run by Arioto, a two-run single by Kelsey Stewart, a sacrifice fly by Haylie McCleney, and a two-run single by Raven Chavenne.

USA hit three home runs in the win. Additional home runs for USA came when Arioto homered in the first and fifth innings.

Sara Nevins got the win for USA. She allowed one run over two innings. She struck out four, walked one and surrendered one hit.

Veronica Belleza couldn't get it done in the circle for Philippines, taking a loss. She allowed seven runs in one-third of an inning, walked two and struck out none.
